Software Development Engineer 2 - Amazon (12/2023 - Present)
- Responsible for breaking down multiple major business requirements for the Amazon grocery subscription’s national launch into actionable design documents, such as a significant expansion of the subscription’s internal eligibility and status API to support different subscription prices for different customers, improved support for subscription sharing among household members, and more. This required coordination with project managers and software engineers from partner teams to ensure the planned work both met the needs of the business and enabled quick integration by our partner teams.
- Faced with a tight timeline for product launch, I orchestrated a team of four engineers along with myself to implement the above-mentioned design documents. With three of the four engineers being brand new to the team, I rapidly ramped them up on the relevant systems and guided them through their components of the work, ensuring all was completed on time, feature complete, and well tested.
Software Development Engineer 1 - Amazon (7/2022 - 12/2023)
- Designed and implemented new internal service needed for the pilot launch of Amazon’s grocery subscription. Service is an API used by multiple other teams and services for fetching customer information about the subscription such as eligibility and subscription status for various use cases. API served a sustained average of multiple dozens of requests per second upon pilot launch.
- Implemented UI design provided by UX designer for the customer facing subscription detail/signup page, regularly syncing to discuss improvements, priorities, and trade-offs to ensure the best possible UX was created within the demanding timeline.
- Hosted a summer intern, coordinating with team manager and senior engineer to choose an appropriate project and then leading the design for the work to be done. Guided the intern through the project and his implementation of the work, ensuring the required features were met and completed on time for the customer, while also facilitating the intern’s growth as an engineer and teammate.
- Owned my team’s component of a multi-team engineering effort to enable customers to reserve pickup/delivery time slots for online grocery orders before placing an order, a brand new feature for Amazon’s online grocery. My component consisted of creating a new service for vending a customer’s eligibility to reserve slots and, when present, the details of a customer’s reserved slot, to be used by various customer-facing UIs owned by other teams.

Software Engineer - DeliveryCircle (1/2019 - 12/2021)
- Developed brand new SaaS application from start to delivery and onward. Application is a cloud-based, delivery-management platform. Multi-year project that now serves as the company’s core product.
- Automated several developer pain points, such as regularly needing to manually update database seeders to reflect the state of a production database
- Interviewed numerous potential new hires at the company. My recommendations led to 2 job offers made to new engineers.
